Consultation/medical care by internist/nurse
If you would like to have a consultation/medical care, please contact us by email (health@hiroshima-u.ac.jp) in advance.
Medical care
We can prescribe medication only for mild headaches, period pain, etc. for up to 3 days. If you wish to take medicine, please be sure to see the doctor during the consultation hours.
Followings are impossible: blood tests, new coronavirus/influenza tests, infusions, and continuous medications.
We will refer you to medical institutions. Please contact us.
First aid
The nurse will give first aid such as injury. If you need treatment or continuous treatment, we will guide you to a medical institution.
- Request: Serious injuries and injuries during experiments often require medical treatment. In some cases, it may be best to seek medical treatment as soon as possible, so please call the Health Service Center first rather than visiting directly.
Medical consultation
You can consult with an internist/nurse about physical problems. If needed, the internist refers you to another medical specialist.

Criteria for Period of School Attendance Suspension Due to Infectious Diseases
① According to Article 19 of the School Health and Safety Act Enforcement Regulations
② According to “Explanation of Infectious Diseases to be Prevented at Schools” (Japan School Health Association, a public interest corporation)
Some cases are treated as type III and other infectious diseases under ①)

Tinea Infection, especially Trichophyton Infection② | No need to suspend attendance. However, activities such as close-contact martial arts practice or matches should be avoided until risk of infection is gone. |
- For diseases not listed above, please refer to “Explanation of Infectious Diseases to be Prevented at Schools” (Japan School Health Association).
- For participation in educational training or caregiving experiences, be sure to consult with the support office beforehand and follow their instructions. If you have symptoms such as cold symptoms or diarrhea, please do not participate following the prescribed procedures.
- For participation in hospital practical training in the Kasumi District, please follow the judgment of the hospital infection control team.
- For staff attendance suspension, please refer to the above “Criteria for Attendance Suspension Period” for decisions.
- Calculation method for attendance suspension period:
- When specifying “until △ days have passed since ○○,” the day after the occurrence of “○○” is counted as the first day.
- For example, if “2 days have passed since fever resolution”, it would be as follows:
- Monday: fever resolved
→ Tuesday: 1 day after fever resolution
→ Wednesday: 2 days after fever resolution → (If there is no fever during this period)
→ Thursday: can attend
- Monday: fever resolved
- Attendance suspension period does not apply if the school doctor or other physician determines that there is no risk of infection due to the medical condition.
